Many Cool Updates To The Website

I haven’t been reporting on all the cool new features added to the website recently. That is because I was too busy creating these cool things! Someone is helping me go over the website, actually using it, and reporting on where it can be improved, which has sped up the process considerably.

I’m updating you on all the cool new things on the website.

To begin with, there is now a changelog where I report each improvement to the website. It’s all also there, but I’ll summarize and elaborate on the biggest changes and additions here.

1. You can now install the “Practice Drawing This” website as an APP on your phone.

2. The Random Shape Generator was hidden inside the website a bit. It has been given its own prominent page, linked to from the site overview, and is now also a part of the warm-ups in the Morning Sketches APP.

3. The “Verify Your Art” app has been renamed AR Drawing Tutor . It lets you view your drawing through your mobile camera, with a reference image overlaid, so you can compare.

4. It’s all integrated much better now. You can use the Digital Sketching Canvas from several places: the Morning Sketches APP, the Timed Drawing section, even the 3D models, and the Random Shape Generator. And the AR Drawing Tutor can be accessed from the exact same spaces, with the image already chosen for you. For example, you can practice drawing a box and then overlay your drawing with the 3D model of that box to see how far off you were.

5. I significantly improved the 3D model index. It now looks way nicer; you have a much better overview of all the 3D models, it is much easier to choose a model, and it takes one fewer step to enter the 3D model.

6. We created a Frequently Asked Questions to lessen the work for the moderators on the Discord. Currently, there are just two questions there, but this document will grow over time.

On a side note, we now have moderators on the Discord! And they are doing a fantastic job! I am really thankful. The Discord server has grown considerably.

7. Six new anatomy-related 3D models were added:

The Pelvic Bone by thunthu, Upper Thigh Bone by Ualde, The Human Skeleton by thunthu, A Human Foot by thunthu, Bones Of A Human Hand by thunthu, A Shoulder Blade bu Ualde. (All SketchFab models.)

There are lots and lots of other minor improvements to the interactivity and user experience.

Yours sincerely,
