They don’t waste time choosing one over the other.
I’ve been thinking about that. It was a design philosophy behind my ArtPodPlay podcast player, which chooses podcasts for you to listen to. You just hit play.
When something is curated by a real human, the results are much better than what an algorithm can come up with. Algorithms don’t understand content. They often misunderstand statistics and sometimes misinterpret them.
My long-term goal is to help you and me disconnect from the addictive internet by making it easier to spend more time in our sketchbooks. ArtPodPlay can be one component of that; instead of wasting time selecting media to have on while drawing, let me choose something for us so that we can start.
All the episodes of these podcasts are great. It doesn’t matter which one you listen to, so let’s choose a random one.
That’s also my approach with the Morning Sketches APP , Timed Drawing , and Memory Drawing Game I created; by default, the system selects an image for you to use for drawing reference, and you can just start. It doesn’t matter which one you do, although you can also choose if you want. But you don’t have to waste time finding image references.
I use these drawing resources myself. The Memory Drawing Game works well for me; I can quickly squeeze in a 15-minute drawing session by opening the Memory Drawing Game page, opening my sketchbook, and grabbing a pen.
Limit the number of decisions you need to make before you can start to draw. Eat the same breakfast or lunch every day if you have to.
Yours sincerely,
